Raise A Dock FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to some of the most common questions about our custom waterfront construction services, and more.
How long does it take to receive and install my Raise A Dock system?
Lead times depend on the dock style and your shoreline needs. Sectional docks generally have the fastest turnaround, often ready for delivery and installation within 1–2 weeks. Rolling docks and crank-up docks may require additional preparation. Once your order is placed, our team provides a clear, personalized timeline.
When should I place an order to be ready for this season?
We recommend placing your order early to secure your preferred installation window. Our team installs docks well into late fall, but early scheduling ensures availability, customization time, and proper planning for your waterfront. Reserving ahead guarantees your Raise A Dock system is ready for the season.
How early should I order my dock to be ready for summer?
We recommend placing orders as early as possible—especially during spring. Early scheduling ensures preferred installation dates, avoids seasonal rush, and allows ample time for customization or site prep. The sooner your order is in, the sooner your dock can be installed and ready for use.
Can you install docks in deep water or uneven lake bottoms?
Yes. Our systems are built to adapt to various waterfronts, including uneven or rocky bottoms. Raise A Dock structures can be installed in water depths up to 18 feet, although we recommend 6–8 feet at the dock’s end for optimal stability and performance.
How well do Raise A Dock systems handle winter, storms, and harsh weather?
Each dock is built using reinforced cross-bracing, Schedule 80 aluminum pipe, corrosion-resistant hardware, and premium vinyl decking. These components ensure stability during storms, freezing conditions, and long-term exposure to moisture. Customers choose Raise A Dock because it performs reliably even in challenging weather.
What maintenance is required to keep my dock in excellent condition?
Routine maintenance is minimal. Aluminum frames resist corrosion, while Endeck and vinyl decking require only periodic rinsing to stay clean. No staining, sealing, or painting is required—making Raise A Dock systems exceptionally low-maintenance.
Do you provide seasonal dock removal and reinstallation?
Yes. We offer seasonal installation and removal services for docks we manufacture. This ensures your system is handled correctly and safely at the start and end of each season.
What warranty do Raise A Dock products come with?
Our docks include a lifetime guarantee for normal use (excluding damage caused by natural disasters). Vinyl decking such as Endeck carries its own lifetime warranty. With over 25 years of manufacturing experience, we have never had a dock failure or warranty claim—giving customers complete peace of mind.
What should I do if my dock needs service or repairs?
If you ever need support, adjustments, or repairs, simply contact our team. We respond quickly and handle everything from hardware replacement to structural updates. Our goal is to keep your Raise A Dock system functioning like new for decades.
Can I upgrade or add accessories to my existing Raise A Dock system?
Absolutely. We offer ladders, bumpers, cleats, benches, racks, handrails, and more—all designed for seamless compatibility with our aluminum dock systems. Accessories enhance comfort, safety, and functionality without requiring major modifications.
